trust

God has not chosen to answer every question we ask. It all revolves around trust. But trust is not easy. Perhaps one of the greatest evidences of our ability to trust is our willingness to walk on in the darkness. Can we trust God? One measure of trust is how deeply we relate to God and are prepared to live without answers.

encountering the prophetic

Spent some time today writing up and reflecting on some prophetic words spoken over me at the weekend. Never totally sure how to go about the process but just sat quietly in the Lords presence and invited him to speak to me and impress on me his heart. To confirm these words or not to me.

So here are some of the words; Spirit is on you, you are a man of gifting and intellect, you like to see things work. You have been given weapons of authority and power. To kill a giant. To kill a giant with power and authority you have never seen before. This is an invitation to you to be a beach head in the nation and in the denomination. For significant increase in the Holy Spirit.

Seek the Lord continually. He will answer you and deliver you from all fear. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Or intellect.

You are an eagle with lots of feathers. Perhaps some preening is necessary. You hear the Lord clearly. You are called to make a nest in the heights. You will be kicked out of the nest but you are equipped to fly.

You are like Gideon, a mighty warrior. It is time to walk out of the wine press. You are a general.

Still processing. Listening hard to God and trying to cultivate silence in my life. Not easy since my life is a cacophony of noise. Don’t find silence yet it is there that I hear God speak in to my soul.

pipe laying for beginners

Using for my devotions a book of Puritan prayers I was given for Christmas, “The Valley of Vision”.  This mornings was called “Self-knowledge”, which began with these words which I have been thinking about all day. “ It is a good day to me when thou givest me a glimpse of myself”. Wondered if I would really consider that a good day from my perspective. The prayer ends with this great hope, which made me smile.  let me not lay my pipe too short of the fountain”. Great I thought! Oh to be connected to the steady gush of his fountain!
